Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art presentsFAX an exhibition thatinvites a multi-generational group of artists, as well as architects, designers, scientists and filmmakers, to conceive of the fax machine as a tool for thinking and drawing.

Ice Fishing in Gimli (a novel)
December 12, 2009 - February 21, 2010

Ice Fishing in Gimli is an exhibition based on an eight-volume image/text montage bookwork by Winnipeg artist/writer Rob Kovitz. As a special program offered only to Plug In members, lending copies of the entire eight volume work are available on loan during the exhibition. This exhibition will run from December 12, 2009 to February 21, 2010.

Summer School 2009: Open Studios

Plug In ICA presents Open Studios for Summer School 2009 Saturday, August 29, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. During the month of August, seventeen artists from across Canada have  participated in a hybrid residency/art research/art school program for professional practicing artists.

Plug In ICA presents a talk by visiting curator Yann Chateigné Tytelman, as part of Summer School 2009. The talk will take place Thursday, August 27 at 7 p.m. The talk is open to the public, free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Plug In ICA presents a talk by visting curator Lotte Juul Petersen, as part of Summer School 2009. The talk, entitled Making possibilities for research and production of art,  will take place Saturday, August 8 at 3 p.m. at Plug In ICA. The talk is open to the public, free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Every second year, the Manitoba Foundation for the Arts honours Manitoba individuals and organizations that go above and beyond their daily professions to use art in ways that enhance the communities they live in and the overall quality of life in Manitoba.

Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art launches Turn On Campaign for $4 million

Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art is pleased to officially announce the launch of the Turn On Campaign to raise $4 million. Funds raised will go towards the development of Plug In ICA’s new facility at 460 Portage Avenue as well as to support an Endowment for programs.
