New York-based Japanese artist Misaki Kawai strives to make work true to the innocent, honest integrity of adolescent playfulness, but on a more grand and sophisticated level.

Saturday May 8, 2010, Plug In ICA is pleased to present Iowa-based performance artist Leslie Hall, also known by fans as Mama Gem. She will rip up to Winnipeg with her band, The Lys, for a live performance. Line your pan with Crisco when she dances her disco because her stretchy pants and sparkly bling are gonna groove you!

Winnipeg’s long winters make us – its citizens – crafty. We are a creative bunch, scheming up ways to keep ourselves and those around us inspired and entertained. Plug In ICA wants to celebrate this energy with a three day festival of all things DIY* scheduled to take place from May 7 – 9, 2010.

Every second year, the Manitoba Foundation for the Arts honours Manitoba individuals and organizations that go above and beyond their daily professions to use art in ways that enhance the communities they live in and the overall quality of life in Manitoba.

Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art is pleased to officially announce the launch of the Turn On Campaign to raise $4 million. Funds raised will go towards the development of Plug In ICA’s new facility at 460 Portage Avenue as well as to support an Endowment for programs.
